Emmi-pet is the ultimate solution for oral care as it not only efficiently cleans your pet’s teeth- removing heavy tartar, plaque and staining but works prophylactically to prevent and protect against
periodontitis, chronic mouth cavity diseases, tartar formation, bad breath odour and the need for anaesthesia during mechanical removal of tartar.
Ultrasound also promotes blood circulation in the gingiva which keeps gums healthy and free from inflammation whilst aiding healing processes. Finally, a clinically proven oral health treatment that can be safely and easily implemented from the comfort of home.
The emmi®-pet has been certified by the specialized department for animal husbandry and animal welfare (FFT) in Austria as an animal protection-oriented product.
I offer Emmi Pet teeth cleaning sessions which can be booked separately or can be added to your dog’s grooming session.
Sessions last around 30mins and can be booked weekly or monthly depending on your dog’
Training
City& Guilds Level 2 Dog Grooming Assistant (7863-02)
This qualification is for people who are looking to start a career within the dog grooming industry.
The learner must be 16 years old, or over. Be dedicated and have enthusiasm for working with animals and especially dogs as this rewarding career can require long hours.
The Level 2 Dog Grooming Assistant (7863-02) – Will provide learners with the practical skills and knowledge that is important for working as a Dog Grooming Assistant. Learners will work for a business which could be based in a salon or a mobile unit. This qualification is the pre-requisite for progression onto the Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming (7863-03) and so on successful completion of the Level 2 Dog Grooming Assistant (7863-02) qualification learners can progress their knowledge and skills further in this area to become a Professional Dog Groomer and enrol onto the Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming (7863-03).
On-Site at Training Centre
- Practical Assessment 1: Assess behaviour, identify the breed, lift and move using relevant restraints and handling.
- Practical Assessment 2: Basic health check, identify key anatomical points, type of coat and prepare a dog for bathing.
- Practical Assessment 3: Bathing, drying, nail and ear care.
- Practical Assessment 4: Trimming to prepare for styling.
- Practical Assessment 5: Cleaning the salon and equipment.
- 1 x online multiple-choice exam (60 minutes) - taken on-site at the end of the course
There will also be written assignments and worksheets to complete to help you research and revise for the theory side of the qualification. These are to be completed both on-site and as part of documented guided home study until the required guided learning hours are met.
I run this qualification one day a week over 15 weeks 9 am to 3 pm, All workbooks, course material, exams and certificates are included in the price. All students also receive their own student starter kit

Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming (7863-03)
This is a Level 3 qualification and provides you with the skills and knowledge to work as a Professional Dog Groomer in the animal care industry.
Students will need to have already achieved the Level 2 Dog Groomers Assistant and a minimum of 6 months of full-time trimming and styling experience.
A pre-qualification assessment is essential at this stage to establish that you are ready to complete the qualification and ascertain the length of time required.
The course I run over 25 days or a minimum of 4 days depending on your ability and experience. On site practical work is required as well as continuous guided home study to fulfil the required qualification guided learning hours.
On-Site at Training Centre
- Practical Assessment 1: Risk assessment
- Practical Assessment 2: Client consultation and style a drop coat
- Practical Assessment 3: Hand strip a dog
- Practical Assessment 4: Style a wool mix coat and maintenance of equipment
- Practical Assessment 5: Style a dog to breed standard and health check
- Practical Assessment 6: First aid
There will also be written assignments and worksheets to complete to help you research and revise for the theory side of the qualification. These are to be completed both on-site and as part of documented guided home study until the required guided learning hours are met.
1 x online written exam – to be sat under full exam conditions (2hrs). This exam is held twice a year in June and November at the salon and you will be given a choice of which month you want to sit it following completion of the practical and theory assessments.
